Abstract

The main purpose of the present article is to highlight the importance of the educational resources to optimize the emerging literacy and the alphabetization process, the relevance to focus on orality and on reading in the beginning of elementary school, as well as the necessity to overcome obstacles that interfere with teachers’ motivation and performance. This study results both from an ethnographic research, which became an action- research, developed at the Teacher Practice School of the Education Faculty of São Paulo University (USP) and from some visits to schools in Portugal and France. It also takes into account some investigation based on the teacher training supervision in public schools in São Paulo. As a result of these investigations, the study presents appropriate resources in order to enable a ludic and effective way to develop children`s reading and writing skills.
