Abstract

GUERREIRO, Alexandre Silva. Human rights education: possibilities based on HRNEP and cinema at school. Roteiro [online]. 2021, vol.46, e24819.  Epub Sep 14, 2021. ISSN 2177-6059.  https://doi.org/10.18593/r.v46.24819.

The struggle for the establishment of Human Rights Education in several countries is a direct result of the decade dedicated to Education (1995-2004) by the United Nations. The Human Rights National Education Plan is a result of this effort, but the gap between what the plan establishes and our pedagogical practices persists. This work aims to reflect on the HRNEP, published in Brazil in 2007, and the ways in which we can bring human rights closer to school through cinema and audiovisual. Based on a study of the HRNEP and an approach of cinema as art at school (BERGALA, 2002;FRESQUET, 2011;2013), the researsh concludes that the triad cinema-education-human rights is fundamental for the current school to be reivented, through the valorization and protagonism of students and teachers.
