Abstract

LUGON, Olivier. NEW OBJECTIVITY, NEW PEDAGOGY: CONCERNING AENNE BIERMANN. 60 PHOTOS, 1930. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.47, pp.31-49. ISSN 2236-3459 .  https://doi.org/10.1590/2236-3459/55867.

The article analyzes the photo book, published in 1930, written by Aenne Biermann, artist who entered the movement of New German Pedagogy, which aimed to replace the teaching sustained in reading and in the books through direct contact with the elements of knowledge. The New Objectivity in photography, therefore, reached a pedagogical role of great importance in Germany of that period, to enable students eye contact with the things of the world. The photograph enabled the production of books with didactic images for use in the classroom, as well as learning of photography was included in German schools as a resource of creative graphic teaching and as teaching tool of various subjects through visual projection.

Keywords : photograph; new pedagogy; new objectivity.
