Abstract

ASCOLANI, Adrián. Las Convenciones Internacionales del Magisterio Americano de 1928 y 1930. Circulación de ideas sindicales y controversias político-pedagógicas. Rev. Bras. Hist. Educ [online]. 2010, vol.10, n.02, pp.71-96. ISSN 2238-0094.

The educators’ congresses in Latin America were numerous in the first half of the 20th century but, unlike the majority, the I American Teachers Convention (Buenos Aires, 1928) and the II American Teachers Convention (Montevideo, 1930) gave place to debates and ideological antagonisms in which it was perceived, since rarely it had happened, the relation between the school education and the expectations of diverse social actors, reformists or conservatives. From the I Convention, it resulted the creation of the Internacional del Magisterio Americano, which planned a programmatical way for several federations in different countries. In this article the pedagogic and political-educational agreements, dissents and confrontations will be reconstructed in an analytical way.
