Abstract

SA, Elizabeth Figueiredo de; CARVALHO, Carlos Henrique  and  SILVA, Luciana Vicência do Carmo de ASSIS E. The schooling of rural childhood in the Lusophone-Brazilian space from the perspective of comparative education (1935 to 1945). R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.66, pp.951-972.  Epub May 07, 2019. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v27i66.7179.

The focus of this paper is to analyze the educational public politics targeted to the rural childhood schooling in the Lusophone-Brazilian space, privileging the primary elementary school organization. Based by comparative history, are analyzed academic productions and legislations of the countries, favoring categories that allowed approximate/separate from realities: access, schooling modalities and curriculum. The temporal delimitation is due to the initial period of Salazar government, in Portugal, that also contemplates the Estado Novo in Brazil (1937-1945). These governments took advantage of the school to impose in childhood nationalistic values and to nurture abilities and knowledge that were necessary to work.
