Abstract

MIGUEL, José Carlos  and  FREITAS, Sirley Leite. Developmental education: the appropriation of mathematical knowledge in relation to the study activity. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2022, vol.31, e11579.  Epub Apr 30, 2022. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v31ijan/dez.11579.

The study addresses elements that constitute the appropriation of mathematical knowledge through the study activity. It uses bibliographic research and documentar analysis on how some concepts appear in mathematics teaching programs and how they could be treated in the perspective of developmental education. The theoretical framework involves contributions from the historical-cultural theory of Vigotsky, in the Elkonin-Davidov education system, in addition to theoretical assumptions about the renewal of mathematics teaching programs in Brazil. It is concluded that the appropriation of mathematical knowledge from the study activity contributes to an education that forms for autonomy and self-training.
