Understanding the concept of health should support the training of professionals, in addition to integration with communities. The present study aimed to analyze the representations, apprehended by health students, from a public university, on Teaching Practices in the Community, developed with active methodologies. For that, questionnaires were applied and their statements were analyzed using the IRAMUTEQ software, based on the Theory of Social Representations. The data revealed that the students materialized their speeches in the following categories: humanization, reality and health education. Similarly, they pointed out that Teaching Practices in the Community go through discontinuities, which may compromise contact with the community.

Keywords : Active Methodologies; Health Education; Teaching Practices in the Community; Social Representations.
