Abstract

ANDRADE, Mara Lucia Fabricio de  and  COUDRY, Maria Irma Hadler. What about punctuation? The writings of elementary students. LTP [online]. 2013, vol.31, n.60, pp.29-45. ISSN 2317-0972.

Abstract In this paper we present data from an evaluation of language which took place in public schools in the state of São Paulo to develop a discussion about what is inherent to the pathology and to the grade point average. Taking punctuation issues as a starting point, we compared school texts with texts written by school students with complaints related to language and learning difficulties. In both cases what can be observed are very similar problems of the process of language acquisition. These problems, often mistaken for pathological processes, indicate that the acquisition process of writing is not being consolidated in the appropriate period (cycle I), getting to the next level (cycle II), when it is either stopped or, with the appropriate intervention, it is likely to continue developing.

Keywords : Punctuation; Rewriting Processes; Shared Attention.
