The aim of this article is to analyze opinions and proposals made by children for transport, traffic and urban mobility in the city of Maringá, PR. The results show that they are unsatisfied with the lack of security, with drivers’ disrespect with signaling and traffic rules, and with the few opportunities they have to move around in the city. Their suggestions indicate that they want to move around in the city more frequently. We have concluded that it is essential that the city offers possibilities to children, in order to allow them to experience their playful, cultural and political experiences, exercising their autonomy, freedom and participation. Urban mobility is a political action that must be promoted by public authorities to realize children’s participation in the urban territory.
