The Brazilian scenario has a growing demand for early childhood education in all social strata, and childhood experiences and gain importance. Given this complexity, this article aims to reveal the career paths and personal dilemmas of teachers before, successes and experiences that occur in their work environment that directly or indirectly interfere with their educational work and ways of conceiving the teaching profession. Therefore, we carried out interviews with seven teachers who work in a school for early childhood education in the municipal schools in São José dos Campos, SP. It was found that teachers feel fulfilled in many moments of his educational practice, which reveals itself in small details, usually related to advances in the development of the students. On the other hand, stand as obstacles existing conditions to develop their work, the beginning of his career and relationships with other professionals and families of children which is often permeated by conflicts and disagreements.
