1. Nature of Submissions

Education and Philosophy publishes manuscripts in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

4.1.1 Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to Education and Philosophy and another journal is prohibited. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the rejection of future submissions by the author.
4.2 Removal of identifying information: To preserve the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process, manuscripts must be submitted without any identifying information in either the text itself or the electronic file properties. Files should be submitted in DOC, RTF, or compatible formats: Authors must remove all identifying information from the manuscript and replace self-citations with “Author” and the year of publication in references and footnotes. In Microsoft Office documents, author identification must also be removed from the file properties. To do so, from the main menu select: File > Save As... > Tools (or Options on Mac) > Security Options... > Remove personal information from file properties on save > OK > Save.
4.3. Number of Titles and Abstracts: Articles must include three abstracts in three different languages, each accompanied by its corresponding title and keywords. Abstracts must be formatted in Times New Roman, size 10, with 1.15 line spacing and justified alignment. Abstracts in Portuguese and English are mandatory. The third abstract may be written in Spanish, French, Italian, German, or in the author's native language. The titles of the abstracts must appear in bold and must not be written in all capital letters.
4.3.1: Titles in Portuguese and English are required even for translations, book reviews, and interviews, as they are used in the preparation of the Portuguese and English tables of contents and in the publication metadata.

4.4. Length of Abstracts: Each abstract must contain a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 300 words. In addition, three to five keywords must be provided in the corresponding language.

4.10. Footnotes: Footnotes must be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals, beginning with 1 and inserted through the word processor's footnote function. They must appear in superscript format and be formatted in Times New Roman, size 9, single spacing (1.0), justified alignment, with no paragraph indentation and no additional spacing between paragraphs of the same style.
4.11. Block Quotations: Block quotations must not be enclosed in quotation marks. They must be formatted in Times New Roman, size 10, single spacing (1.0), justified alignment, with a 4 cm indentation, no paragraph indentation, and no additional spacing between paragraphs of the same style. Emphasis indicated through italics, boldface, or other forms must be identified at the end of the quotation in parentheses, specifying whether the emphasis was added by the author or appears in the original source. All quotations must include the appropriate citation in the format (Author, year, page). The complete reference must be included in the References section at the end of the manuscript.
4.12. Quotations Incorporated into the Text: Quotations incorporated into the body of the text must be enclosed in quotation marks and follow the same formatting as the surrounding text (Times New Roman, size 11, 1.15 line spacing, justified alignment), except when emphasis is intended. 5. Specific Guidelines for Submissions Reporting Research Involving Human Participants
Articles reporting research involving human participants and falling within the scope of the Guidelines and Regulatory Standards for Research Involving Human Beings (National Health Council Resolution No. 196/96 of October 10, 1996), as well as its supplementary regulations, must be accompanied by documentation demonstrating approval of the research protocol by a legally constituted Research Ethics Committee. Where applicable, approval by the National Research Ethics Commission (Comissão Nacional de Ética em Pesquisa, CONEP/MS) must also be provided. For articles originating from foreign countries and reporting research involving human participants, authors must comply with the ethical research regulations in force in the country of the institution with which the author – or, in the case of multiple authorship, the principal author – is affiliated.
6. References
The References section must include all authors and works cited in the manuscript and must appear at the end of the text in alphabetical order. References must conform to the current ABNT standards or to another consistent citation system recognized by the international scholarly community. Submissions that do not include references, or that present them incorrectly, will not be considered for review or publication.
7. Manuscript Evaluation
Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated anonymously by specialists, and the outcome of the review process will be communicated promptly to the author(s). The journal reserves the right to conduct certain stages of the editorial process (including review and revision) through its own management systems or by e-mail. Authors may contact the journal at any time to request information regarding the status of their submission, including information that is available through the double-blind review system.
8. Anti-Plagiarism Policy
Pursuant to Internal Resolution No. 11/2020 of the Executive Council of Education and Philosophy and Annex 6 of its Internal Regulations:
Article 1. Manuscripts submitted to Education and Philosophy will be screened using plagiarism-detection software both at the time of submission and prior to publication. The resulting reports will be examined by the journal’s editorial staff.
Article 2. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism will be immediately rejected.
Article 3. In cases of self-plagiarism, the journal will apply the following criteria:

Copyright of published works remains with their respective authors, who may republish them elsewhere, provided that full reference is made to the original publication (original title, Education and Philosophy, volume, issue, and page numbers). The content of all published articles is the sole responsibility of their authors. Neither Education and Philosophy nor EDUFU shall bear any legal responsibility for the content of published works.
10. Privacy Policy
The names and addresses provided to this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes of this publication and will not be made available for any other purpose or to third parties.
